Het Voorstel-wat gebeurt er daarna? The Proposal-what happens after?

Dus, als het (eindelijk) zo ver mag zijn dat we gebeld worden, Wat gebeurt er dan ?

* De verwachting is dat Peter gebeld wordt, ik heb (mobiel) het eerste contact nummer. Het liefst zou ik direct naar huis gaan, maar dat ligt natuurlijk aan wat ik dan aan het doen ben (op werk?)

** Ik bel Jane en spreek af hoe laat we beiden thuis zijn, Matt heeft vakantie (vanaf deze week) en is dus thuis of op de vakantie opvang van Happy Kids.

*** Samen vertellen we het aan Matthew.

**** Dan weten wij het allemaal en bellen we naar de familie in Nederland & Engeland.

We zullen ook een afspraak gemaakt hebben dat we naar het kantoor van Wereldkinderen gaan om meer informatie op detail nivo te krijgen over de achtergrond van 'Mack' die nu een naam heeft!

5* We bellen de vrienden die ons direct geholpen hebben met het hele traject en meer vrienden

6* We beginnen aan een (kort) blog bericht met het goede nieuws en plaatsen dit dezelfde avond nog (dus na 18.00 ,voor de laatste keer voorlopig?) de link op Facebook en Twitter en deze keer ook op linked-in.

Wil je/jullie op de hoogte blijven dan is het dus handig om de blog (link) goed op te slaan.

De champagne is geopend dus iets minder activiteiten...

7* We kijken naar de vluchten en boeken die voor ons 3 en de overnachtingen van de eerste week kunnen geboekt worden.

en stellen mailtjes op;
 makelaar voor het verhuren van het huis, beide werkgevers en anderen, onder andere de contacten die we nu in Kenya hebben laten we weten dat we komen! waaronder natuurlijk de school, die 21 augustus al weer start voor Matthew en de school in Hoofddorp.

Dan ??? van alles en nog wat!

De buren en de rest van de buurt op de hoogte brengen, de koffers verder inpakken, afspraak maken om de laatste spullen naar mijn zus te brengen, de laatste week (dagen?) zullen volgens een strak schema gaan ;-)

en dan maar aftellen, naar de eerste ontmoeting en een update van de blog vanuit Nairobi, Kenia.

We denken ook aan de andere stellen die in het zelfde "adoptie bootje" zitten dichtbij (Alphen) en ver(der) weg in Canada!
Wij weten al dat het, het wachten waard gaat zijn, dus houdt moed!

So, when we (finally) get that phone call, what happens next ?

* We expect that Peter will receive the call since I am the first contact number (mobile).
I would like to go home directly, but that depends of course on what I am doing at that moment (at work?)

** I will call Jane and we agree on a time that we are both home, Matt has is summer holidays (started this week) so he is either at home or at the holiday child care at Happy Kids.

*** Together we will tell Matthew

**** Then we all know and is it time to call our family in the Netherlands and England.

We will also have made an appointment to go the office of our agency to get more background information
about "Mac", who will have a name now!

5* We will call the friends that have helped us directly with our procedure and the rest of our friends

6* We will start a (short) blog post with the good news and post it the same evening (so after 6.00pm probably for the last time for a while?) and we also put the link on Facebook and Twitter and this time also on Linked-in.

We'll open some champagne so we won't do much else that evening!

7* We will look at the flights available and make our booking as well as some accommodation for the first week or so and send some e-mails to: the estate agent who will try and rent our house, both our employers and other people, including the contacts we now have in Kenya to let them know we are coming, including the school which begins on 21st August in Nairobi for Matthew, and let his school here in Hoofddorp know too. Then?  All kind of things.  We will let the neighbours know and others close to us in the neighbourhood, pack the suitcases and make arrangements to take the last few valuable items to my sister; the last week (days) will have to follow a strict pattern, a lot to do in a short time. And then the countdown to the first meeting with our new child and a blog update from Nairobi.

 We will also be thinking of the other families in the same adoption 'boat' as us both close by (Alphen) and further away in Canada!  We know all the waiting will be worth it, so keep the faith.

 (Unfortunately it is now Wednesday 25th July 2012, not quite that far yet ...)
